Transport/Import/Export

The Tripartite agreement for the movement of FEI sport horses between UK/Ireland and France means that movements to FEI competitions in Ireland and France, and back again, are simplified.

Current FEI registered horses taking part in FEI competition in Ireland and France can take advantage of this by applying to a BEF Approved Shipper (list below). These horses will travel using a document called a DOCOM which means that you do not have to obtain a health certificate signed by a vet prior to transit.

Please view the briefing note by clicking here to download

For the latest information on how the movement of horses will be affected by the UK's departure from the EU please visit our Brexit page.
